Ocean Dynamics Group is part of Center for Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (COAR) at Research Institute for Applied Mechanics, Kyushu University.

We are also Ocean Variability Lab at the Department of Earth System Science and Technology, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences. Graduate students can enter our lab through this department.

Our lab focuses on understanding, monitoring, and forecasting the ocean using observations, numerical models, and theoretical framework. Topics include coastal areas surrounding Japan and east Asia and the open ocean, such as the Pacific. Below are the topics that are currently in progress.
